Lego Indiana Jones The Original Adventures

Imagine being able to play with Legos without having to get all the pieces. Now you can with Lego Indiana Jones. It takes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures. With a tongue-in-cheek take on these original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones’s escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India where you will build, battle and brawl your way through your favorite moments, from Indy’s entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run.
User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars Love, love, love, this game. Great for all ages!
This game is too much fun! I am 38, and my sons are 7 and nearly 5; we all love it. Granted, the younger boy was a bit nervous about the crocodiles until he learned that he could punch them or hit them with his shovel, but, overall, the 10+ rating is a bit misleading. The boys can do all of the things required to move the game along, though it does take critical thinking, so sometimes coaching is needed from an adult.
Regardless, I do like the Lego perspective; it makes the fighting with the “bad guys” seems so much less violent than other formats. I also appreciate that the game follows all the Indiana Jones movies, so, if you’ve seen the movies, then you definitely have the upper hand because you’ll know some of how the entire things operates already.
I would definitely encourage this game to anyone, though I will say that this game is not as physically demanding as many of the other Wii games we have. The aerobic workout you won’t get with this one!
5 Stars Perfect age appropriate game
Both of my kids are under the age of 10 and have had a blast playing this game. It is the perfect age appropriate game. Highly recommended.
3 Stars Frustrating for younger players
We got the wii at the height of Indiana Jones mania in our house. My son age 7, really wanted to try this game so we rented it and he enjoyed it very much. However, the game was tough to figure out, for us non-serious “gamers”. We would never have made it through several of the levels without going online and reading the walkthroughs. Also, the levels were SOOOO long! We would play and play and play, and when we wanted to stop for whatever reason, all we had done on that level would be lost! This is frustrating for a little boy. We got VERY tired of having to fight the same battles over and over, because we didn’t have the time to finish the level. I understand why the other reviewers think this game is great…it is interesting and fun to solve the mini levels and the characters are great. I like how it mirrors the movies. I just think that you need to be a little more game savvy (the rating is 10+ after all, and I think it is accurate). I just wanted to let parents who are thinking of getting this game for a younger player to maybe try renting it first to see if their child can handle it.
