4 Stars love it!
Simple, easy, and fun. One of MUST OWN games for Wii. Our family loves this game!

4 Stars Controller Control
Big Brain Academy is a challeging game that is a hit for any age over 5 or so. The biggest issue we have had is getting precise enough control on the Wii controllers to ensure you don’t click too quickly on the wrong answer attempting to beat your best time. Your “Big Brain” is measured on accuracy of picking the right picture, shape, number, etc in the shortest time. That’s it! If you can flip shapes in your brain and can follow moving shapes, you can play this game. The fun really begins when you take on your spouse in a test-off to see who’s smarter. Don’t challenge your kids! They just might beat you!

4 Stars Big Brain Academy
I tried Big Brain Academy at my friend’s house and immediately knew I was going to go buy it. First you enroll your Mii in the academy, and then take a fun test to see the “weight” of your brain. When playing by yourself you can practice all different subjects including computing, memorizing, visualizing, identifying, and more. You can also re-test once you feel you’ve gotten better at the subjects. There is also a brain quiz, which mixes all different aspects of the test but you can play it with friends and see who will get the higher score. You can also compete with friends one on one.

5 Stars This is great!
I really love this game. I play it alone and just have a ball.

Haven’t played with anyone else yet, but I’m sure it would be even more fun.

2 Stars Meh – Pass for Big Brain Academy
This is a jeopardy-like trivia game where families can work together to race the clock (e.g. answer 20 questions correctly before the time runs out!). We are able to complete a round in under 5 minutes – which makes this game great for quick play. The questions are categorized – books, sports, history, science… You do not get to pick the category, however. Contestants are kept engaged by shaking or waving their remote, jumping, or dancing to add time to the clock. In bonus round (answer 4 correct in a row), you add time to the clock through a game of tug-of-war.

Why this game was a miss:

1) All text – if your child is a slow reader or cannot read – playing is very difficult, especially as the answers are not labeled A,B,C,D – which would at least allow her to say A. Cow is right – and find the A.

2) Too heavy on the sports – ummm… yeah. I don’t know who scored how many touchdowns in what superbowl and neither do the kidlets – your mileage may vary

3) Too light on the science – it’s at a 5th grade level

4) Too heavy on the books – some are obscure, and I read ALOT

5) Lots of obscure questions within each category (who was raised where…) that I suppose were to keep parents interested – instead they just frustrated the kidlets

6) Question database too small – I saw repeats after the 2nd round

I love Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree as it is equally engaging and does not require super readers. While inexpensive, I would take a pass on Smarty Pants.

4 Stars Perfect game for family and friends of all ages!
This is a great game. I’ve played it many times. It is easy to control and easy to play. The questions are not stupid nor are they overly hard. The only down fall I feel is that they should have changed up the rounds with different rules and concepts, but having said that – this games is awesome!

5 Stars Fun game for the whole family!
I bought the Smarty Pants game because I love trivia, and thought it would be fun to play with the family. It is! As a novice Wii owner, I was pleased that the game is simple to understand and allows multiple players to take part, and provides questions that are age appropriate. I took the Wii over to my parents home, and we played this game for hours.

Considering the low(er) price, we were impressed. It seemed similar to Trivial Pursuit and had questions about recent movies, sports and events.

All in all, a good buy!

3 Stars Not really…….
This is an ok game…do not buy for kids who can’t read really well unless you are willing to sit and read the questions to them, which I am willing to do, but my daughter loves this game and it gets old. Also some of the questions were kind of odd…How many 5 year olds even know who Wayne Gretzky is? Questions were ok for adults, but the kids ones are wither super hard, or super easy, no in between. However, if you want a cheap trivia game, or can’t wait until Trivial Pursuit comes out, like me, try this one.

5 Stars Fun for all ages!
We bought this game to play with our 5 year old son. It is LOTS of fun to play as a family. The game encourages exercise/activity through “games” to increase point value of questions. Also questions are easy enough for a 5 year old yet some are challenging enough for an adult depending on the category. Not sure of the exact age on this game, but your children definitely have to be able to read the questions to play. My 5 year old is reading well advanced for his age so he has no problem with the game. Definitely worth the money too!!
